Oral hygiene project resumes

olof-teeth-clinic-palmeThe first “My Teeth and I” Clinic for this year was held on 17 February. The initiative which focuses on teaching school children about oral hygiene, was introduced by the Christina Swart-Opperman AIDS Foundation Trust in 2011. The “My teeth and I” project was launched by the founder of the trust, Dr Christina Swart-Opperman. Dr Coenie de Villiers, a dental surgeon, offered his services to ensure that children were educated in dental care. Since the launch, 143 children were educated through this clinic. A total six clinics will be held during the course of 2012. The participating schools this year are Olof Palme Primary School, Mother’s Voice Grassroots and the Sida Di Soup Kitchen as well as children of the individual families supported by the trust.
