NAC’s Stop and Fix strategy vital to staff
During the months of October and November 2014 the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) conducted numerous team building sessions with employees of the company. The programme had been divided into class developmental as well as out of class activity based sessions. General Manager: Commercial Services at NAC, Toska Sem, said, “The in-class activity sessions focussed on DISC personality testing; bulletproof employee and leadership without a title.
They were designed to help the participants to change their attitude and behaviour that could be detrimental to the growth of the NAC. These sessions were insightful and well received by participants.” She said that the out-of- class sessions were fast paced, fun and exciting. Specific games and activities which depicted behaviours that top management wished to see at NAC were conducted. The activities included, amongst others -mixed soccer, tug of war, marabaraba as well as a number riddles. Sem said, “Our employees are an integral part of the business and inherently also of the whole new strategy going forward. As the first part of our strategy is STOP AND FIX we also wish to fix anything that might be ‘broken’ amongst our employees.” “We realize that without their hard work, dedication and passion any plans we have might be fruitless. The sessions were very well received and we achieved our aims of boosting staff morale, bringing employees together for bonding, rallying the team behind the corporate vision and developing a new brand of NAC employees,” she added.
