FNB Namibia has also handed over their contribution to the MVA as part of the Road Safety campaign. Ingrid Goeieman, Manager Donations and Sponsorships at FNB Namibia: “This year our contribution goes towards removable speed humps which will be used to reduce speeds at accident scenes, temporary road blocks or areas where there is a sudden increase in traffic which needs to be calmed.”
“FNB Namibia is known as the innovative bank and we have – together with the MVA and the Namibian police – come up with a different, but very necessary way of assisting the road safety campaign. We trust that the removable speed humps will serve the purpose of making drivers aware of the fatal consequences of speeding.”
At the hand-over Goeieman added her voice to numerous others in the country when she said that road crashes had reached unacceptable high levels in Namibia. “We see our support as part of FNB’s social responsibility commitment to assist Namibia in reducing the number of fatalities and accidents on our roads.”
